Maths and English functional skills qualifications are available from Entry Level 3 through to Level 2 through the Edexcel (Pearsons) awarding body. Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English are accepted by Universities as an entrance requirement, but we would always suggest that you check that these are acceptable to your university for the degree you plan to take prior to starting a course with us.
These courses can be completed in 10 to 12 weeks and are much quicker to complete than GCSE’s. The examinations are available on demand and there is no need to wait for a specified date to take your exam. This means that you are taking the exam at the optimum time to pass, while all the topics are fresh to you and there is no knowledge loss or heavy revision to undertake.
We offer funded and unfunded routes to learning and the option to just take the exam. Although we would insist that you sit a mock prior to a paid exam to ensure that you are ready. Please note all of the level 1 and 2 exams are taken on-line and there is a wait of up to 4 weeks at busy times of the year, for your results to come through.
If you do not have an English or maths qualification as an A-C grade in a GCSE, and are a UK or European Union (EU) citizen, you will be entitled to FREE learning and exams on these topics if you show a need for it. If you are from a not from an EU country you can still undertake these courses, but may not be entitled to funded learning. The rules on funding change regularly and you should call to discuss your individual situation to find out if funding is available for you.
